1. WRITE DOWN YOUR TRAVEL CHECKLIST
As you travel you will find out that all the time it is really good to write down your checklist. 2. TAKE TIME TO FIND FLIGHT TICKETS & FLIGHT JUST ON CHOSEN DAYS
If you want to find the cheapest flight tickets, it can take time but usually, it is wort to spend some time finding the tickets. In the end, you usually find very cheap tickets. There are special finders online which will help you find the tickets. For example, you can try Skyscanner or Kiwi.com
3. FIND A GOOD BASE POINT FOR TRAVELLING
If you want to visit more than one thing and you don’t want to spend your holiday just on the beach, be aware of where you will stay. Choose a good place from which it won’t be far from the beach but also from some sightseeing you want to visit. If you want to visit cities and you don’t want to stay on the beach, choose someplace more in the centre of the country.
4. FIND GOOD ACCOMMODATION!
As you travel, choose the right accommodation just for you. You can save money very easily on the accommodation. You can use Airbnb and probably find some flat which will be really nice for your stay or you can stay in a more expensive hotel which you can find e.g. on Booking.com
5. TRY LOCAL FOOD
All the time we really love to try the new local food. As you think about that later you will probably remember the food because the food is one of the best things as you travel. For example, in Asia, there is so good cuisine and there are so many dishes to try!
It is also really good to go outside the hotel and visit some traditional local market. Here you will find street food which is usually many times better than the food which you will get in the hotel.
6. TRY TO DO WHAT LOCAL PEOPLE DO!
Find out what are the traditional activities in the country and find out what local people do in their free time. You will meet the local people and you will enjoy it more. You will also see more from the culture in that country. Many times you will try things you have never done before but don’t be afraid of that!
7. TAKE PHOTOS AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE.
The best way to create some type of memory is to take photos as much as possible! Then as you arrive home you can make an album from these photos or you can share them with your friends.
8. MAKE COPIES OF ALL IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS
You never know what will happen with your bags and you never know if you will lose your documents. These documents are really important and it is hard to get them again in a foreign country. It is really good to have at least two copies of these documents with you. Take one copy with you and give it somewhere else than the original documents and you should leave the second copy at home.
9. TAKE A PAIR OF UNDERWEAR AND A PAIR OF SOCKS TO YOUR CARRY ON BAGGAGE / ONBOARD LUGGAGE.
If they lose your suitcase it is not very pleasant to stay in one pair of socks and in one pair of underways for more days. Take one more which you will have as your first aid and later you will be able to buy some other in the final destination. Usually, when the baggage gets lost, they find it soon and deliver it to your hotel or place of stay.
10. BE SPONTANEOUS AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!
If you don’t plan, you will usually visit some things which you didn’t know they even exist. This will help you to visit many things which are really nice. As you don’t plan, you also don’t feel to be in a hurry because as you don’t have any plan you don’t have to hurry anywhere.
11. DON’T FORGET ABOUT THE INSURANCE!
As you travel you should forget about the travel insurance. It is really needed all the time. If something happens to you, e.g. in the USA the medical care is really expensive and you won’t be able to pay for that.
12. TRY TO STAY CALM IF SOMETHING BAD HAPPEN.
As you panic, you won’t solve the situation. Try to stay calm and then you will be able to solve the situation somehow. All the time there are people which will be able to help you. These can be staff from the hotel, police, people from the information centres or even the local people. Usually, the locals will help you and they will know what to do as they live in that country!
13. CHECK IF YOU CAN PAY WITH YOUR CARD IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY.
Go to the bank and check if you have permitted payments abroad. Also, ask for the possible charges which can occur so you will be aware. In some countries, it is better to carry just the cash and to forget about your debit and credit card (e.g. some countries in Africa – there are not many ATMs and we don’t think it is really safe to take the cash from this ATMs). On the other hand, in some countries, it is better to take less cash and to pay with your card.
14. BUY SOME SOUVENIRS.
Souvenirs are a good thing to take with you back home. It is a good memory. Some people buy postcards all the time and then they have an album with that, some people buy e.g. magnets. But all the time it is really good to buy something typical for that country. In some country, it can be whiskey or some other alcohol, in some African countries these can be wood carvings, in India these can be spices, …
15. USE A VPN OR DON’T CONNECT TO THE UNSECURED WI-FI
It can be a bit risky as you connect to unsecured Wi-Fi. To protect yourself from hackers, malware and other stuff that you don’t want to get into your mobile phone use a VPN. One of the best apps is TunnelBear.
16. LEARN SOME BASIC PHRASES OF THE LOCAL LANGUAGE.
As you travel to some country where they don’t speak English, it is really good to learn some basics of their language. It will help you to understand locals and as you come to some local and say him some local word he will be happy even if you start speaking English afterwards.
17. CARRY A PEN!
As you travel, you will definitely need a pen. For example, you have to fill in the customs declaration or immigration form. For these reasons, it is good to carry a pen with you. You don’t want to get into stress because you have no pen.
18. TAKE A HAND SANITIZER AND SANITIZING WIPES!
In the plane, the tray tables are the dirtiest place. And do you know what? You eat on these tables! All the time you use it to take wipes to clean these tables and use the hand sanitizer all the time as you don’t know what is on these tables. There are many bacteria like Escherichia Coli which can cause you many health problems.
19. TAKE A GOOD ADAPTOR FOR YOUR ELECTRONICS.
In different countries, there are different sockets. Nowadays we need to charge for everything – mobile phone, laptops, tablets, watches, … What you will do without an adaptor. All the time you can buy one in the country but it is really good to buy a good one which you will be able to use in all destinations during travelling.

20. GET UP EARLY
As you get up early, you will usually manage to do more things. You will be able to see the sunrise and much more. As many sightseeing tend to close early you can then go to sleep very early!
21. TAKE EARPLUG AND SLEEP MASK
As you never know where you will sleep and if there will be some noise coming for example from the street, take earplugs and sleep mask so you will be able to sleep in any conditions!
22. TAKE A POWER BANK WITH YOU.
Power bank can be really useful during the travelling. You take lots of photos, you use maps on your phone and in the half of the day you will find out that you have last 10% of the battery. Not a pleasant discovery but if you have your power bank you won’t be lost. Don’t forget that in high or low temperatures the phone tends to run out of battery faster.
23. TAKE THE FIRST-AID KIT
Pack a first-aid kit with you! Take there everything you really need and carry it with you all the time. Inside you should put some medicine, hand sanitizer, tissues, …
24. FIND IF YOU NEED A VACCINATION
In some countries, you have to be vaccinated to prevent some kind of illnesses. All the time go to the doctor for an appointment and ask if you need a vaccination for your journey.
25. WEAR SUNSCREEN AND DON’T FORGET SUNGLASSES
Even if the temperature is not the highest the sun can shine a lot. It is really good to wear sunscreen all the time!
